Attorney Melaragno earned his Juris Doctorate from the Case Western Reserve University Franklin Thomas Backus School of Law in 1997. An alumnus of Gannon University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and 1990 graduate of Cathedral Preparatory School, Attorney Melaragno has dedicated his professional and personal life to the Erie community. 

Upon graduating from law school, Attorney Melaragno returned to Erie and began a general practice focusing in the areas of Real Estate, Decedent's Estates, Bankruptcy and Personal Injury Law. 

In 2001 Attorneys Melaragno and Placidi established the law firm of Melaragno & Placidi. The firm concentrated in Criminal Law, Personal Injury, Bankruptcy and Real Estate. 

In 2004 Attorney Melaragno was appointed to the Panel of Chapter 7 Trustees for the Bankruptcy Court of the Western District of Pennsylvania. He is assigned to oversee the administration of one-half of the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy cases filed in Erie, Warren, Forest, Elk and McKean counties. A Trustee's duties include the investigation into the financial affairs of a debtor, the liquidation of non-exempt assets, the pursuit and recovery of preferential and/or fraudulent transfers and the distribution of Estate Assets to creditors. To date, Attorney Melaragno has administered over 6,000 Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases. 

Attorney Melaragno also represents Debtors in Chapter 7, Chapter 13 and Chapter 11 Bankruptcy cases and continues to handle real estate, decedent's estates and personal injury claims. 

In 2015 Attorneys Melaragno and Placidi joined forces with Attorneys Matt Parini and Jeffrey Veitch to expand their practice in the personal injury arena.
